What Stashery is

Stashery is a save-it-for-later app. You save links, we keep them organized so you can find them again. It runs at stashery.app and as a browser extension. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.

What we collect

  • Links you save. The URLs you save, your folders, stars, and archive state, plus metadata we fetch from those pages (title, description, image, site name, favicon, and publish date).
  • Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
  • Anonymous accounts. If you use Stashery without signing in, we create an anonymous account tied to a cookie so your links stick around.
  • Technical data. A session cookie that keeps you signed in (it lasts about a year), and the IP address and browser user agent stored with each session for security. The browser extension stores a login token in your browser's local storage.

The browser extension

The extension reads the URL and title of your current tab only when you click it, and sends that URL to our server to save it. It does not read your browsing history or any page you haven't explicitly saved.

How we use your data

To run the service: store your links, show them back to you, keep them organized, and sync them across your devices. When you save a link, our server visits that page to read its metadata — the site you saved will see a request from our bot (StasheryBot).

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't use analytics or tracking tools.

Who we share with

We don't share your data with anyone except the services that run Stashery: Google (sign-in), Neon (database), and Vercel (hosting). Each processes data only to provide their service to us.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete individual links at any time. To delete your account and everything in it, email us and we'll take care of it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure. Use Stashery with that in mind.

Children

Stashery is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with an updated date.
